JOB PROTECTION AND RECESSION PREVENTION ACT OF 2012--CONCUR IN SENATE AMENDMENTS

Committee on Rules: Full Committee held a hearing on a motion to concur in the Senate Amendments to H.R. 8, the Job Protection and Recession Prevention Act of 2012 (American Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012). The Committee granted, by voice vote, a rule providing for the consideration of the Senate amendments to H.R. 8. The rule makes in order a motion offered by the chair of the Committee on Ways and Means or his designee that the House concur in the Senate amendments to H.R. 8. The rule waives all points of order against consideration of the motion and the Senate amendments. The rule provides that the Senate amendments and the motion shall be considered as read. The rule provides one hour of debate on the motion equally divided and controlled by the chair and ranking minority member of the Committee on Ways and Means. The rule provides that the previous question shall be considered as ordered on the motion to its adoption without intervening motion or demand for division of the question.
