Anderson, of Virginia, to be a Deputy Under Secretary, and Victor G. Mercado, of California, to be an Assistant Secretary, all of the Department of Defense, and 2,647 nominations in the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps.

CARES ACT

Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs: Committee concluded a hearing to examine the quarterly CARES Act report to Congress, after receiving testimony from Steven T. Mnuchin, Secretary of the Treasury; and Jerome H. Powell, Chair, Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System.

NOMINATIONS

Committee on Environment and Public Works: Subcommittee on Clean Air and Nuclear Safety concluded a hearing to examine the nominations of Beth Harwell, of Tennessee, and Brian Noland, of Tennessee, both to be a Member of the Board of Directors of the Tennessee Valley Authority, and Katherine A. Crytzer, of Tennessee, to be Inspector General of the Tennessee Valley Authority, after the nominees, who were introduced by Senators Alexander and Blackburn, testified and answered questions in their own behalf.

BUSINESS MEETING

Select Committee on Intelligence: Committee ordered favorably reported the nomination of John L. Ratcliffe, of Texas, to be Director of National Intelligence.
