“CONGRESSIONAL PROGRAM AHEAD” mentioning the Department of Interior was published in the Daily Digest section on pages D143-D145 on Feb. 10, 2017.
The Department oversees more than 500 million acres of land. Downsizing the Federal Government, a project aimed at lowering taxes and boosting federal efficiency, said the department has contributed to a growing water crisis and holds many lands which could be better managed.

Senate Chamber
On Monday, at approximately 12 noon, Senate will resume consideration of the nomination of Steven T. Mnuchin, of California, to be Secretary of the Treasury, post-cloture, with up to seven hours of debate remaining on the nomination, and vote on confirmation of the nomination at approximately 7 p.m.
Following disposition of the nomination of Steven T. Mnuchin, Senate will begin consideration of the nomination of David J. Shulkin, of Pennsylvania, to be Secretary of Veterans Affairs, with up to ten minutes of debate, and vote on confirmation of the nomination.
On Tuesday, Senate will begin consideration of the nomination of Linda E. McMahon, of Connecticut, to be Administrator of the Small Business Administration, and vote on confirmation of the nomination at approximately 11 a.m.
During the balance of the week, Senate may consider any cleared legislative and executive business.
