“MEMORIALS” mentioning the Department of Interior was published in the House of Representatives section on pages H7747-H7748 on Aug. 7, 2018.
The Department oversees more than 500 million acres of land. Downsizing the Federal Government, a project aimed at lowering taxes and boosting federal efficiency, said the department has contributed to a growing water crisis and holds many lands which could be better managed.

Under clause 3 of rule XII, memorials were presented and referred as follows:

The SPEAKER presented a memorial of the House of Representatives of the State of Louisiana, relative to House Concurrent Resolution No. 96, memorializing Congress to take such actions as are necessary to ensure that Tricare adequately covers behavioral therapies for military dependents; which was referred to the Committee on Armed Services.
242. Also, a memorial of the Legislature of the State of Utah, relative to House Concurrent Resolution 7, encouraging responsible stewardship of natural resources and reduction of emissions through incentives and support of the growth in technologies and services that will enlarge the economy; which was referred to the Committee on Energy and Commerce.
243. Also, a memorial of the Legislature of the State of Utah, relative to Senate Concurrent Resolution 9, encouraging the exploring of Utah and Salt Lake City hosting a future Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games; which was referred to the Committee on Foreign Affairs.

Also, a memorial of the Legislature of the State of Utah, relative to House Concurrent Resolution 8, recognizing the unique and important relationship between the state of Utah and Canada and between the United States and Canada; which was referred jointly to the Committees on Foreign Affairs and Ways and Means.

Also, a memorial of the Legislature of the State of Utah, relative to House Concurrent Resolution 19, urging the President of the United States, the United States Congress, and Utah's congressional delegation to propose and secure the passage of legislation that requires PILT payments to be a fair and steady source of revenue that would otherwise be generated but for the federal control of Utah lands; which was referred jointly to the Committees on Natural Resources and Agriculture.
