Public notices: State Department publishes 28 in September

There were 28 notices published by the State Department in September, according to the Federal Register.

The most recent notice, Update on Report to Congress Pursuant to Section 353(d)(1)(A) of the United States-Northern Triangle Enhanced Engagement Act, was submitted on Sept. 27, 2021.

The State Department published 10 the month before, marking a 180.0 percent increase for the current month.

The State Department is responsibly for international relations with a budget of more than $50 billion. Tenure at the State Dept. is increasingly tenuous and it's seen as an extension of the President's will, ambitions and flaws.

Notices are required documents detailing rules and regulations being proposed by each federal department. This allows the public to see what issues legislators and federal departments are focusing on.

Any person or organization can comment on the proposed rules. Departments and agencies must then address “significant issues raised in comments and discuss any changes made,” the Federal Register says.
