WASHINGTON, DC – The U.S. Department of Labor today announced its intent to award up to $4.5 million in grant funding to reduce child labor in mica-producing communities in Madagascar.
Made available through the Department’s Bureau of International Labor Affairs (ILAB), the grant will provide funds to increase the resiliency of members of vulnerable households in mica-producing communities, the capacity of government officials to address child labor in the mica supply chain and the engagement of non-governmental stakeholders to address child labor in the mica supply chain.
