Commerce Secretary Gary Locke Statement on November 2009 U.S. International Trade in Goods and Services

U.S. Commerce Secretary Gary Locke issued the following statement on the release of the November 2009 U.S. International Trade in Goods and Services report by the Commerce Department’s U.S. Census Bureau and the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis. Today’s report showed that U.S. exports increased by 0.9 percent to $138.2 billion since October 2009. Imports increased 2.6 percent to $174.6 billion.

“Today’s numbers are a welcome sign of economic growth and increasing consumer demand. As we enter 2010, we are exploring new export opportunities and educating companies on the benefits of incorporating new markets to continue to boost exports and create jobs for Americans.
