U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker will travel to Ukraine from October 26-27 as a continuation of the Obama Administration’s sustained commitment to supporting the Ukrainian government and people, and helping strengthen the Ukrainian economy.
The Secretary’s visit continues the high-level engagement launched during her first visit to Kyiv in September 2014 and follows the first-ever U.S.-Ukraine Business Forum held in July 2015 in Washington D.C.
During her trip, Secretary Pritzker will meet with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk in Kyiv to discuss progress on the country’s ambitious economic reform agenda. The President, Prime Minister, and Secretary Pritzker will be joined by a group of American executives who will hear directly from Ukraine’s leaders on reforms being made, and will share their insights on the additional measures needed to strengthen Ukraine’s business climate.
In addition, Secretary Pritzker will visit Velyki Prits’ky, the town from which her family’s name is derived, as well as the Jewish school in Bila Tserkva.

Germany Secretary Pritzker will visit Berlin and Frankfurt, Germany on October 27-29 to underscore the strength of the U.S.-German partnership and address some of our top shared priorities, including concluding the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership; fostering an open, innovation-based transatlantic digital economy; and supporting an independent Ukraine.
In Berlin, Secretary Pritzker will meet with German officials including Sigmar Gabriel, Vice Chancellor and Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy; Andrea Nahles, Minister of Labor and Social Affairs; and Lars-Hendrik Roeller, Economic, Financial, and Energy Policy Advisor to Chancellor Merkel. She will also meet with entrepreneurs at Factory Berlin and plan with the business community for the April 2016 Hannover Fair, at which the United States will be the Partner Country. In Frankfurt, she will address the AmCham Germany Annual Transatlantic Business Conference.
