Today, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker delivered the keynote remarks at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum’s National Days of Remembrance Commemoration. In 1980, the United States Congress established Days of Remembrance as the nation’s annual commemoration of the Holocaust and created the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum as a permanent living memorial to the victims.
As one of the highest ranking Jewish officials in the Obama Administration, Secretary Pritzker shared her family’s story of fleeing Ukraine in the 1880s, and discussed the power and importance of speech in our national dialogue.
