Presidential Election in Mongolia

The United States congratulates the people and government of Mongolia for their successful presidential election on June 9, the eighth such election since Mongolia’s peaceful democratic revolution in 1990. We commend Mongolia for its commitment to democracy, and we are proud to be Mongolia’s “third neighbor” and strategic partner. We look forward to working with President-elect Khurelsukh to continue building on that partnership and strengthening our shared democratic values and Mongolia’s sovereignty and independence.
