Approval of proposal by PNC Financial Services Group and PNC Bank

The following press release was published by the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System on Jan. 25, 2008. It is reproduced in full below.

The Federal Reserve Board on Friday announced its approval of the application by The PNC Financial Services Group, Inc., Pittsburgh, to merge with Sterling Financial Corporation, Lancaster, both of Pennsylvania, and the application by PNC Bank Delaware, Wilmington, to merge with Delaware Sterling Bank & Trust Company, Christiana, both of Delaware.
