Steve Young committed his life to protecting his community and to supporting law enforcement officers across our nation. For the past year and a half, since being chosen to lead nearly 300,000 of his colleagues, Steve provided the Department of Justice with valuable advice and helped me to see through the lens of local law enforcement officers. I am grateful for the contributions Steve made, and I am saddened by our tremendous loss. I offer my deepest sympathy to Steve's family at this difficult time." 03-009
