ATTORNEY GENERAL ALBERTO R. GONZALES APPOINTS THREE UNITED STATES ATTORNEYS TO SERVE ON 2005 ADVISORY COMMITTEE

Gonzales today announced the appointment of three new members of his 2005 Attorney General’s Advisory Committee of United States Attorneys. The new members, who will serve three-year terms, are: Roslynn R. Mauskopf, United States Attorney, Eastern District of New York Michael J. Sullivan, United States Attorney, District of Massachusetts Drew H. Wrigley, United States Attorney, District of North Dakota "The members of the Advisory Committee provide sound advice and represent the voice of all United States Attorneys in making Department policy," said Attorney General Gonzales. "I look forward to working closely with these new members as we continue to fight terrorism, combat violent crime, and protect the rights of all Americans." Roslynn R. Mauskopf was sworn in as the presidentially-appointed United States Attorney for the Eastern District of New York on Sept. 3, 2002. Prior to her appointment, she served as the New York State Inspector General (1995-2002), and as Assistant District Attorney for the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office (1982-1995). Mauskopf serves on the Advisory Committee’s Civil Rights Subcommittee; LECC/Victim Issues/Community Issues Subcommittee; Office Management and Budget Subcommittee; and the Sentencing Guidelines Subcommittee.

Michael J. Sullivan was sworn in as the presidentially-appointed United States Attorney for the District of Massachusetts on Sept. 26, 2001. He was appointed by the Attorney General from Sept. 19, 2001 to Sept. 25, 2001. He previously served as District Attorney for Plymouth County, Massachusetts (1995-2001); State Representative, 7th Plymouth District, Massachusetts (1991-1995); Law Partner, McGovern & Sullivan, P.C. Law Office (1989-1995), Holbrook, Massachusetts; and Associate Counsel, Bolles & Pritchard Law Office, Holbrook, Massachusetts (1983-1989). Sullivan chairs the Advisory Committee’s Health Care Fraud Working Group and is an active member of the Advisory Committee’s Violent and Organized Crime Subcommittee, Sentencing Guidelines Subcommittee, and Terrorism/National Security Subcommittee.

Drew H. Wrigley was sworn in as the presidentially-appointed United States Attorney for the District of North Dakota on Nov. 15, 2001. Prior to his appointment, he served as Deputy Chief of Staff, Office of the Governor of North Dakota (2000-2001); Executive Director and Legal Counsel for the North Dakota Republican Party (1999-2000); Assistant District Attorney for the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office (1993-1998); and Prosecuting Attorney for the Office of the Fargo City Attorney (1992-1993). Wrigley serves on the Advisory Committee’s Controlled Substances Subcommittee and Native American Issues Subcommittee. Wrigley also serves on the Board of the Midwest High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas (HIDTA).
