Public OSHA meeting to be held Nov. 16

The National Advisory Committee on Occupational Safety and Health (NACOSH) is set to meet via teleconference on Nov. 16 from 1-5 pm EST. NACOSH, comprising of 12 members, is a statutory committee that was established in the year 1970 to advise the Secretaries of Labor and Health and Human Services on occupational safety and health programs and policies. Among the 12 members of this committee, there are four public representatives, two management representatives, two labor representatives, two occupational health professionals and two occupational safety professionals.

“We will hold a virtual meeting of the National Advisory Committee on Occupational Safety and Health on November 16. Public comments and requests to speak must be submitted by November 9," tweeted OSHA_DOL.

The tentative agenda includes discussing risk-based safety, as well as efforts regarding heat illness.

The meeting will be open to the public, and public comments/requests to speak had to be submitted by Nov. 9.
