Statement by Deputy Press Secretary Matt Chandler on Secretary Napolitano's Upcoming Visit to Texas

For Immediate Release Office of the Press Secretary Contact: 202-282-8010 "Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano will travel to Laredo, Texas, on July 15. In Laredo, Secretary Napolitano will announce fiscal year 2010 Operation Stonegarden grants - intended to support state and local law enforcement along the border - at Texas A&M International University at Laredo. She will also meet with law enforcement leaders to discuss the Department's efforts to support state and local law enforcement in protecting communities from cross-border threats, and tour U.S. Customs and Border Protection operations at the Laredo Port of Entry.
