Readout Of Secretary Johnson's Trip To Pennsylvania

For Immediate Release DHS Press Office Contact: 202-282-8010 HENRYVILLE, Pa.—Today, Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson traveled to Henryville, Pa. to meet with student leaders from the Muslim Students Association (MSA) to discuss the Department’s continued efforts to expand partnerships with community organizations and state and local officials on civil rights and civil liberties to safeguard local communities.

Secretary Johnson met with 40 student leaders from MSA chapters across the country. During the meeting, Secretary Johnson addressed the students’ concerns regarding efforts to keep local communities safe, especially at schools and college campuses. Secretary Johnson highlighted the Department’s commitment to working with and empowering local law enforcement and communities reiterating that homeland security begins with hometown security.
