In 2014, I presented Special Agent Jarrow with The Secretary’s Exceptional Service Award, and he has continued to represent the immense cybersecurity talent of the Secret Service.

I would also like to commend two additional employees of the Department of Homeland Security who were named finalists for this year’s Sammies: Mariela Melero, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services; and Ajay Bhatt, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

These individuals embody the mission statement of our Department: “With honor and integrity, we will safeguard the American people, our homeland, and our values.”
