On Monday, April 5, Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro N. Mayorkas spoke by phone with New Zealand’s Minister for Justice and Minister for Immigration, Kris Faafoi. Secretary Mayorkas and Minister Faafoi reaffirmed the continued strength of the U.S.-New Zealand relationship and discussed opportunities to enhance the bilateral partnership through collaboration with Five Eyes partners. Secretary Mayorkas emphasized DHS’s continued commitment to work with New Zealand on countering the threat posed by domestic violent extremism.
