The Administration continues to take a cautious and coordinated approach to energy development offshore Alaska. The Department of the Interior in January released the Draft Proposed Program for oil and gas leasing activities for 2017-2022, which makes available for leasing areas that contain 90% of undiscovered technically recoverable oil and gas resources in the Chukchi Sea, Beaufort Sea and Cook Inlet planning areas.
