Obama Administration to Announce Next Steps in National Conversation on Federal Coal Program - Archive

WASHINGTON – U.S. Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell today will host a press conference call with Office of Management and Budget Director Shaun Donovan and Dan Utech, Deputy Assistant to the President for Energy and Climate Change, in order to discuss next steps in the Obama Administration’s efforts to strengthen and modernize the federal coal program.

Secretary Jewell last year called for an open and honest conversation about the federal coal program as one part of the Department of the Interior’s ambitious energy reform agenda in a speech at the Center for Strategic and International Studies.
