Release: Robert, La. -- As part of the federal government's coordinated oversight and support of BP's response to its spill in the Gulf of Mexico, the Department of the Interior will establish a new Outer Continental Shelf Safety Board, conduct a full review of offshore drilling safety and technology issues, and further tighten oversight of industry equipment testing Ken Salazar announced today.

Advisory: WASHINGTON-Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Janet Napolitano, Department of the Interior (DOI) Secretary Ken Salazar and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Lisa Jackson will travel to the Gulf Coast on Friday at the request of President Obama to inspect ongoing operations dedicated to minimizing environmental risks in the areas affected by leaking oil-part of their continued oversight and emphasis on interagency coordination in response to the BP Oil Spill.
