WASHINGTON, D.C. – As part of President Obama's Climate Action Plan to create American jobs, develop domestic clean energy resources and cut carbon pollution, Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell will join California state and local leaders and industry officials at the formal dedication ceremony for the Desert Sunlight Solar Farm. The solar project is one of the nation's largest solar projects that is now delivering clean, renewable energy to American consumers.
Secretary Jewell will be joined by Bureau of Land Management National Director Neil Kornze; Armando Pimentel, President & CEO of NextEra Energy Resources; Georges Antoun, COO of First Solar; Riverside County Supervisor John Benoit and other state and local agency officials and local stakeholders.
Prior to the “power on” ceremony, Jewell will tour the photovoltaic facility. Members of the media are invited on the tour.
