Since Dec. 10 the state of Kentucky has been ravaged by severe weather events including devastating tornadoes, flooding and severe storms with high winds. In response FEMA has set up disaster centers and on Jan. 3 it was announced that 12 of them will be operating on a rotating schedule.
According to a release, the recovery centers are part of a circuit where they will be in one location for a week and then move to another location for a week. There are five other recover centers that will be in fixed locations.
The 12 rotating centers are as follows:
Caldwell County DRC 3 is located at the Butler Gymnasium at 600 West Main St. in Princeton. It reopens Jan. 12 and closes Jan. 18.
Fulton County DRC 5 is at Old Gilbson Electric Membership Corp. at 1702 Moscow Ave. in Hickman. It reopens Jan. 16 and closes Jan. 22.
The Marshall County DRC 6 is at Joe Creason Community Center at 1600 Park Ave. in Benton. It reopens Jan. 12 and closes Jan. 18.
Christian County DRC 8 is location at Maddux Funeral Home at 338 East Nashville St. in Pembroke. It reopens Jan. 16 and closes Jan. 22.
Hickman County DRC 9 is located at County Cooperative Ext. Services at 329 James H. Phillips Drive in Clinton. It reopens on Jan. 16 and closes Jan. 22.
Hart County DRC 10 is at Fairgrounds Building at 2184 South Dixie Highway in Munfordville. It reopens Jan. 16 and closes Jan. 22.
Logan County DRC 11 is at Logan County Extension Services at 255 John Paul Road in Russellville. It closes Saturday, reopens Jan. 21 and then closes Jan. 27.
Taylor County DRC 12 is located at the Old Firehouse at 1563 Greensburg Road in Campbellsville. It opens Friday, closes Jan. 13 and reopens Jan. 25.
Barren County DRC 13 is at the Cave City Police Department at 103 Duke St. in Cave City. It closes Saturday, then reopens Jan. 21 and then closes Jan. 27.
Ohio County DRC 14 is located at the Community Center/Justice Department at 130 East Washington in Hartford. It closes Saturday, reopens Jan. 21, closes Jan. 27.
Marion County DRC 15 is at 223 North Spaulding Ave. in Lebanon. It closes Jan. 13, opens Jan. 25 and closes Jan. 31.
Lyon County DRC 16 is at Old Convention Center at 3311 Lee S. Jones Park Road in Eddyville. It closes Jan. 13 and reopens Jan. 25.
The fixed locations are the Warren County DRD2 at the the former Sears at Greenwood Mall at 2625 Scottsville Road in Bowling Green; Muhlenberg County DRD at Neal’s Chapel General Baptists Church at State Route 81 in Sacramento; Graves County DRC 7 at Graves County Public Library at 601 North 17th St. in Mayfield; Hopkins County DRC 17 at the Community Center at 108 West Keigan Street in Dawson Springs; Hopkins County DRC 18 at Mike’s Old Pharmacy at 104 South Lee Trover Todd Jr. Highway in Earlington.
The recovery centers are open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and also on Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.
