The most recent notice, Brookfield White Pine Hydro, LLC; Merimil Limited Partnership; Hydro-Kennebec, LLC; Notice of Intent To Prepare an Environmental Impact Statement for The Proposed Project Relicense, Interim Species Protection Plan, and Final Species Protection Plan, Request for Comments on Environmental Issues, Schedule for Environmental Review, and Soliciting Scoping Comments, was submitted on November 30, 2021.
The Energy Department published 147 the month before, marking an 8.2 percent decrease for the current month.
The Department oversees energy policies and is involved in how the US handles nuclear programs. Downsizing the Federal Government, a project aimed at lowering taxes and boosting federal efficiency, said the Department's misguided energy regulations have caused large losses to consumers for decades.
Notices are required documents detailing rules and regulations being proposed by each federal department. This allows the public to see what issues legislators and federal departments are focusing on.
Any person or organization can comment on the proposed rules. Departments and agencies must then address “significant issues raised in comments and discuss any changes made,” the Federal Register says.
