State Department publishes 27 notices in December

There were 27 notices published by the State Department in December, according to the Federal Register.

The most recent notice, Advisory Committee on Historical Diplomatic Documentation-Notice of Closed and Open Meetings for 2021, was submitted on December 30, 2021.

The State Department published 17 the month before, marking a 58.8 percent increase for the current month.

The State Department is responsibly for international relations with a budget of more than $50 billion. Tenure at the State Dept. is increasingly tenuous and it's seen as an extension of the President's will, ambitions and flaws.

Notices are required documents detailing rules and regulations being proposed by each federal department. This allows the public to see what issues legislators and federal departments are focusing on.

Any person or organization can comment on the proposed rules. Departments and agencies must then address “significant issues raised in comments and discuss any changes made,” the Federal Register says.
