The U.S. Marshals Service knows no boundaries when it comes to tracking down fugitives.
The recent arrest of Santonio Malone illustrates just that.
"An inter-state fugitive with an arrest warrant for murder will always be a top priority for the U.S. Marshals Service,” U.S. Marshal Tyreece Mille said in a release.
Malone was arrested after multiple warrants, including one for a first-degree murder, were issued in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania, after an October incident, the release said. He was picked up near Memphis, Tenn., this week.
Malone was wanted in connection with the Oct. 24 shooting death of Juan Carlos Romero in Mahanoy County, the Marshals Service said in the release. A second shooting victim was taken to a local hospital. That resulted in a warrant for aggravated assault.
The U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force for the Middle District of Pennsylvania worked the case and uncovered information that Malone was out near Memphis. They teamed up with the U.S. Marshals Service’s Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force to apprehend the suspect.
Malone was arrested without incident after he was found inside a residence in Memphis.
