LOGISTEC USA and 'leading EPC company' Infrastructure Energy Alternatives form strategic alliance to support U.S. offshore wind industry

Infrastructure and Energy Alternatives, Inc. (IEA) has announced the establishment a new partnership with LOGISTEC USA Inc., a LOGISTEC Corporation affiliate in a Jan 25 press release.

IEA intends to use its logistics experience to profit on the expected multi-year investment in offshore capacity expansions through this partnership.

"As a leading EPC company serving the domestic onshore wind industry, IEA is uniquely positioned to capitalize on a long-term trend toward increased investment in offshore wind development," J.P. Roehm, CEO of IEA stated in the release.

The two companies predict that entering into this non-exclusive commercial arrangement will benefit them in the long run by enabling them to achieve better economies of scale and supply chain efficiency.

"We believe this alliance will allow for improved logistics, supply chain, and material handling capability along the East Coast corridor where LOGISTEC has a significant geographic presence, one well-suited to service planned offshore wind developments in the region," Roehm continued.

Additionally, IEA plans to combine its established technical expertise with LOGISTEC's freight handling capabilities to enable the construction of new utility-scale offshore wind projects along the east coast of the U.S.

Last year, the U. S. Departments of the Interior (DOI), Energy (DOE) and Commerce (DOC) declared a shared goal of generating 30 gigawatts (GW) of offshore wind energy in the United States by 2030.

These capacity improvements are estimated to provide enough electricity to power more than ten million American households a year, while also avoiding the release of nearly 78 million metric tons of CO2.

IEA is a major infrastructure construction company based in Indianapolis that specializes in renewable energy and specialty civil services.

"IEA's renowned suite of specialized services in the renewable energy sector paired with our field-proven wind handling expertise will bring clean energy to communities in support of a sustainable future for generations to come," Rodney Corrigan, President of LOGISTEC  stated in the press release.

LOGISTEC Corporation is headquartered in Montréal, Québec and specializes in providing services to the marine industry and industrial companies.
