BACKGROUND: U.S. Senators Barbara Boxer (D-CA), Chairman of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, John Warner (R-VA), and Joe Lieberman (ID-CT) will be joined by the members of America's leading religious organizations to discuss the need for action to address the challenge of global warming. These leaders from faith communities across the entire spectrum of religious life in America, represent millions of American religious believers, who are supporting action on global climate change to avert environmental catastrophe and to protect the people who are most vulnerable in the face of a changing climate.
