The following news release was published by the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Work on April 8, 2011. It is reproduced in full below.

Washington, DC - In recognition of the ninth annual National Healthy Schools Day on April 11, Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA), Chairman of the Environment and Public Works Committee, issued the following statement:

Senator Boxer said: "National Healthy Schools Day reminds us how important it is for our students to have clean air in their schools. If children can't breathe, they can't go to school. I will continue to fight efforts to block the Environmental Protection Agency from doing its critical work to reduce toxic air pollution in at-risk communities and in schools where kids may be exposed."
