Vitter: State Dept. Completes yet Another Environmental Study as Keystone XL Delay Continues

The following press release was published by the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Work on March 1, 2013. It is reproduced in full below.

U.S. Sen. David Vitter (R-La.), top Republican on the Environment and Public Works Committee, made the following statement in reference to the U.S. State Department's draft environmental impact report on the Keystone XL pipeline that was released:

"They call it a draft environmental impact statement, I call it another excuse in the long line of delays in the Keystone XL pipeline," Vitter said. "The hurdles to permit Keystone XL have all been cleared, some of them multiple times, but the administration continues to put up new ones. Their laundry list of delayed projects is a big part of why our economy struggles to recover - and could partially be why gas prices in February saw a record increase."
