Vitter: Mr. President, We’re Still Waiting on Keystone

The following press release was published by the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Work on March 22, 2013. It is reproduced in full below.

U.S. Sen. David Vitter (R-La.), top Republican on the Environment and Public Works Committee, made the following statement regarding President Obama's promise to "cut through the red tape, break through the bureaucratic hurdles, and make [Keystone XL pipeline] a priority, to go ahead and get it done" one year ago in Cushing, Oklahoma:

"What will it take for the President to follow through on his promise to the American people to make the Keystone XL pipeline happen?" Vitter asked. "The President has had a full year to ‘cut through the red tape,' yet we're still waiting for action. We cannot keep the American people waiting for good-paying jobs and lower gas prices when it is reasonably within grasp."
