WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, U.S. Senator John Barrasso (R-WY), chairman of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works (EPW), praised the Senate's vote to confirm the renomination of Kristine Svinicki to be a member of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). The Senate voted 88 to 9 to confirm Svinicki, with bipartisan support. Svinicki was designated as the NRC chair in January and will remain in that role.

“Kristine Svinicki has proven to be an excellent chair of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and a dedicated public servant," said Barrasso. “I am glad the Senate has quickly approved her nomination. The commission needs all of its members in office to ensure that American-made nuclear energy is safe and efficient."
