Barrasso: Democrats Trying to Duck Big Green Bomb

The following press release was published by the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Work on Feb. 28, 2019. It is reproduced in full below.

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, U.S. Senator John Barrasso (R-WY), chairman of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works (EPW), released the following statement on Senate Democrats introducing an alternative resolution to the Green New Deal proposal.

“I don't blame Senate Democrats for trying to duck this big green bomb," said Barrasso. “You can't escape the fact that nearly every Democrat senator running for president supports it.

“The Senate will soon be voting on the Green New Deal, and Democrats will have the chance to vote for the radical policies they say they support."

Background Information:

An American Action Forum cost analysis of the Green New Deal resolution found the proposal would cost between $51 trillion and $93 trillion over the next decade. The Green New Deal would cost every household in America between $36,100 and $65,300 per year.
