The Census Academy on Jan. 27 introduced the 2022 Back to Data Basics Webinar Series.

The webinar provides novice data users a way to explore data with guidance, and it provides more experienced users with a way to expand their knowledge, according to a United States Census Bureau press release.

“Working with U.S. Census Bureau data can feel like a complex puzzle and finding the right pieces to complete the picture may seem daunting to anyone who is not a statistician," the release states.

Every month until September, Census Academy will offer two to four classes that introduce the basics of how to access and utilize the data products, topics, tools, and resources from the Census Bureau.

The release states that professionals, academics and students have a curiosity to get their hands on easily-accessed information.

"Learning trends have shifted to on-demand, video-based training that targets immediate needs or 'just-in-time learning', the Academy said. "When the Census Bureau launched Census Academy in 2019, the goal was to adapt to these trends and teach attendees in ways they like to learn."

All classes are free and open to the public. Registration is limited and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, according to the release.
