Administrator Samantha Power to Travel to Tuskegee, Alabama for Tuskegee University Visit and MOU Signing Ceremony

On Monday, January 31, Administrator Samantha Power will travel to Tuskegee, Alabama to announce a new partnership between the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and Tuskegee University (TU), a private, Historically Black land-grant university. The partnership aims to advance diversity, equity and inclusion in international development–specifically in areas of expertise USAID and TU share including climate resilience and adaptation, agriculture, nutrition, and water resources.

During the trip, Administrator Power and TU President Dr. Charlotte Morris will sign a Memorandum of Understanding under USAID’s Minority Serving Institutions (MSI) Partnerships Initiative. Administrator Power will also meet with students and faculty in the university’s agricultural research and public policy programs.

The signing ceremony and remarks are open to the press. Please contact Kawana McGough with the TU Office of Communications, Public Relations and Marketing at kmcgough@tuskegee.edu to RSVP.
