Today, Deputy Secretary Don Graves held an introductory meeting with Ambassador Sheikh Meshal bin Hamad Al Thani of Qatar. During the meeting, Deputy Secretary Graves and Ambassador Al Thani discussed Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani’s successful visit to the United States, the recent Boeing and Qatar Airways aircraft purchase agreement, and opportunities to advance bilateral commercial relations. The Deputy Secretary and Ambassador also discussed opportunities to collaborate on the Build Back Better World initiative launched by President Biden and G7 partners in 2021.
