Upton Statement on Chairman Ryan's Budget

The following press release was published by the House Committee on Energy and Commerce on April 5, 2011. It is reproduced in full below.

WASHINGTON, DC - Congressman Fred Upton (R-MI), chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, issued the following statement today on Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan’s FY 2012 budget:

“America’s fiscal challenges can no longer be ignored, and with his budget, Chairman Ryan is laying down a marker for fiscal honesty and responsibility. The contrast with the President’s budget and the failure of Senate Democrats to put a check on spending could not be more stark. A path to prosperity is exactly what America needs, and House Republicans are leading the way by focusing on job creation and fighting for a budget that allows America to live within our means. Now Washington Democrats need to demonstrate whether they are willing to get serious about protecting America’s fiscal future."
