House and Senate Leaders to Unveil Bill to Provide More Flexibility to States TUESDAY

WASHINGTON, DC - Leading voices on health reform from the House and Senate will hold a joint press conference on Tuesday, May 3, 2011, at 2:30 p.m. in the Senate Radio-TV gallery. Members will unveil legislation to repeal the health care law’s Medicaid Maintenance of Effort requirements, which prevent states from targeting health care services to those most in need and limit governors’ ability to root out program waste, fraud, and abuse. Governors from both parties have called for greater Medicaid flexibility in order to innovate and better target health care spending.
