WASHINGTON, DC - House Communications and Technology Subcommittee Chairman Greg Walden (R-OR) today applauded the Federal Communications Commission’s Report on FCC Process Reform. Released on Friday, the report contains the recommendations of the FCC’s staff level working group, many of which mirror those in the H.R. 3675, the Federal Communications Commission Process Reform Act, which was unanimously approved by the full committee in December. The FCC Process Reform Act, sponsored by Chairman Walden, has also been introduced in the Senate by Sen. Dean Heller (R-NV) as S. 1989.
“Improving the way our government conducts business by increasing transparency and predictability in commission processes is a winning solution for everyone," said Walden. “I am pleased that many of the recommendations of the working group are so closely aligned with those contained in H.R. 3675 and look forward to their implementation. However, without enshrining these reforms in statute, their future will always be at the whim of whomever may be appointed chair. We owe it to the American people to enact laws that work on their behalf, and the FCC Process Reform Act certainly meets that test."
