House to Vote Tomorrow on Cassidy Keystone Solution that Says #Yes2Energy

The following press release was published by the House Committee on Energy and Commerce on Nov. 12, 2014. It is reproduced in full below.

WASHINGTON, DC -The House will vote tomorrow on a bill, H.R. 5682, authored by Rep. Bill Cassidy (R-LA) that would immediately authorize construction of the Keystone XL pipeline.

House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Fred Upton (R-MI) said, “After more than six years, it is finally time to say ‘yes’ to Keystone XL, ‘yes’ to jobs, and ‘yes’ to energy. Dr. Cassidy’s bill will do just that. We can no longer afford the president’s delays; now is our chance to finally get Keystone across the finish line. The House has already had several bipartisan votes to approve this landmark project and we will continue this fight until we get the job done."

“The House has passed legislation to expedite the construction of the Keystone XL pipeline eight times. The Senate did not consider any of the eight. We will now vote yet again to move this important project forward. I hope the Senate and the president do the right thing and pass this legislation creating thousands of jobs. After six years, it’s time to build," said Cassidy.
