WASHINGTON, DC - House Communications and Technology Subcommittee Chairman Greg Walden (R-OR) today welcomed the Senate introduction of the Federal Communications Commission Process Reform Act, authored by Sen. Dean Heller (R-NV). The legislation, which closely tracks legislation approved in the House and introduced in the Senate each of the past two Congresses, would bring much-needed transparency, accountability, and predictability to the FCC.
“Reforming and improving operations at the FCC has long been a priority for the committee. Our efforts have enjoyed broad bipartisan support in the House only to fall short in the Senate. That will change with this new Congress. Unfortunately, many of the issues that triggered our initial review have become more apparent in recent months." said Walden. “The FCC should be an open, transparent, and predictable agency - no matter who is in charge. The American people deserve better and we look forward to working with the Senate and all interested parties in achieving this commonsense goal. We need process reform now more than ever."
