WASHINGTON, DC - The bipartisan leaders of the House Energy and Commerce Committee tomorrow will welcome patients to Capitol Hill to discuss H.R. 6, the 21st Century Cures Act. Chairman Fred Upton (R-MI), Rep. Diana DeGette (D-CO), Health Subcommittee Chairman Joe Pitts (R-PA), Ranking Member Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ), and Health Subcommittee Ranking Member Gene Green (D-TX) will be joined by the visiting patients for a press conference tomorrow, Tuesday, June 16, at 2 p.m. in room 2123 of the Rayburn House Office Building.
The 21st Century Cures Act is all about patients. Members have spent over a year gathering patient perspectives and advice on how to improve our health care system and speed up the process of getting effective cures and treatments to patients who need them most. H.R. 6 is a product of this nonpartisan work and input from all across the country. Tomorrow, individuals who have been a critical motivator in the effort will have the chance to visit with the leaders who are working to make #Cures2015 happen.
