Patients - the inspiration behind 21st Century Cures - joined the bipartisan leaders of H.R. 6, the 21st Century Cures Act, on Tuesday to talk about how this legislation will help them in their search for longer, healthier lives. H.R. 6 is continuing its momentum following a 51-0 approval by the full committee, moving closer to delivering hope to patients and loved ones in need.

Ian Lock, a volunteer with the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, spoke about his journey as a high school athlete who survived a battle with osteosarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer. Ian is now studying public health at Macalaseter College and interning at the University of Minnesota, doing genomic research on osteosarcoma, and he hopes to continue this research as a doctoral student.
