Shimkus Kicks Off Debate on Landmark Bill to Update Chemical Safety Laws for the 21st Century

WASHINGTON, DC - Environment and the Economy Chairman John Shimkus (R-IL) kicked off today’s floor debate on the bipartisan H.R. 2576, the TSCA Modernization Act.

This landmark initiative seeks to:

* Provide the public with greater confidence in the safety of American-made chemicals and the products that contain them;

* Better facilitate interstate and international commerce; and

* Protect human health and the environment.
