Last weekend, House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Fred Upton (R-MI) joined over 600 folks for Kalamazoo’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk. Over 100 teams braved the morning chill to raise over $60,000 and help boost awareness and research for breast cancer. According to the American Cancer Society, “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walks are the largest network of breast cancer awareness events in the nation, uniting nearly 300 communities with a shared determination to finish the fight." The events are “a celebration of survivorship" and part of the effort to “make this breast cancer’s last century." Every participant in Kalamazoo and around the country is a vital part of the effort to make #Cures2015 a reality.
