WASHINGTON, DC - The Subcommittee on Health, chaired by Rep. Joseph Pitts (R-PA), has scheduled a hearing for Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2016, at 10 a.m. in room 2123 of the Rayburn House Office Building. The hearing is entitled, “The Fiscal Year 2017 HHS Budget." The president submitted his fiscal year 2017 budget to Congress last week on February 9. Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Sylvia Burwell will provide testimony on the department’s proposed budget. Burwell will be the sole witness.

“We appreciate Secretary Burwell’s testimony next week," said Chairman Pitts. “We’ll have many questions for her about the president’s requested budget, and about how it ignores the federal government’s serious financial challenges. We’ll also ask about how the Obama administration expects to keep the promises the government has made to seniors and to the poor."

The Majority Memorandum and witness testimony will be available here as they are posted. Related Items
