House to Vote on Connecting Consumers and Innovation

The following press release was published by the House Committee on Energy and Commerce on April 15, 2016. It is reproduced in full below.

WASHINGTON, DC - The U.S. House of Representatives is set to vote on H.R. 2666, the No Rate Regulation of Broadband Internet Access Act. The bill authored by committee member Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) would prohibit the FCC from regulating the retail rates charged by Internet service providers (ISPs) for broadband Internet service access. FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler and President Obama promised, when the net neutrality rules were adopted, that the FCC would refrain from regulating rates. H.R. 2666 would codify into law the promises made by Chairman Wheeler and the administration.
