Pallone Commends Senate for Passing Bipartisan Energy Bill

The following press release was published by the House Committee on Energy and Commerce on April 20, 2016. It is reproduced in full below.

Energy and Commerce Ranking Member Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) today commended the U.S. Senate for passing S. 2012, the Energy Policy Modernization Act, a bipartisan energy bill.

“I commend Senators Murkowski and Cantwell for their persistence in moving a bipartisan energy bill through the Senate that reflects a more balanced approach to our nation’s energy policy than the bill approved in the House last year. Instead of supporting new distributed and renewable technologies, cutting edge energy storage and demand response, the House Republican bill subsidized the large, expensive and inflexible facilities and energy sources of the past. With today’s Senate action, I look forward to working with Senators Murkowski and Cantwell and Chairman Upton to construct a bipartisan bill that embraces the continued development of a sustainable clean energy economy that can be signed by the President."
