Upton, Pallone, Shimkus, Tonko Comment on Efforts to Update Chemical Safety Laws for the 21st Century

WASHINGTON, DC - House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Fred Upton (R-MI), full committee Ranking Member Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ), Environment and the Economy Subcommittee Chairman John Shimkus (R-IL), and subcommittee Ranking Member Paul Tonko (D-NY) commented on today’s announcement by Senate Environment and Public Works Committee Chairman Jim Inhofe (R-OK) and Ranking Member Barbara Boxer (D-CA) that they have “reached an agreement on key sticking points of the TSCA reform bill."

Upton, Pallone, Shimkus, and Tonko stated, “This is an important step forward and we’ll work through the weekend reviewing the language. We look forward to keeping the momentum going."

The House passed H.R. 2576, the TSCA Modernization Act, on June 23, 2015, by a vote of 398 to 1. See Also
