WASHINGTON, DC - House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Fred Upton (R-MI) spoke this afternoon in favor of the House amendment to S. 2012, the Energy Policy Modernization Act of 2016. The legislation, scheduled for a House vote this afternoon, will move important provisions of H.R. 8, the North American Energy Security and Infrastructure Act, which passed the House last December, one step closer to providing an energy future based on abundance and innovation.
“This bill is about jobs. It’s about keeping energy affordable. It’s about boosting our energy security, here and across the globe," said Upton on the House floor. “H.R. 8 is the embodiment of an all-of-the-above energy strategy."
